Abstract
The frequency of eye color mutations induced in the insect Dahlbominus by 1000 r does not differ significantly for acute and chronic exposures, delivered at 1000 gamma/min. and at 10 gamma/hr. respectively. The induced frequency exceeded the spontaneous frequency by approximately 35 fold. In these experiments, female germ cells were exposed in the oogonial stages of development. A preliminary description of the eye-color mutations and of defective individuals found in offspring of irradiated mothers is included in the paper. Keywords
