Abstract
Bacterial luciferase was purified from Photobacterium phosphoreum and its physico-chemical properties were investigated. This enzyme has a molecular weight of 82, 000 and an absorption maximum at 375 mμ with a shoulder at 445 mμ in addition to the protein peak. The fluorescence and luminescence spectra of the enzyme and its chemiluminescent quantum yield and activity were also investigated.Keywords
