Abstract
I compute the induced spectral distribution of a weak probe propagating in a Kerr medium in the presence of a copropagating noisy pump field. Gaussian and non-Gaussian Markovian pump fields, with equal second-order correlation functions, modify differently the spectral distribution of the probe. The autocorrelation function and the spectral distribution of the probe are evaluated as functions of the propagation distance in the nonlinear medium for different classes of incoherent pumps. Keywords
