The similarity between alcoholic deterioration and aging in humans is discussed. The conceptual issues involved in characterizing alcoholic deterioration as premature aging in the CNS are considered. The available behavioral evidence which bears on the premature aging hypothesis is evaluated. This publication has 48 references indexed in Scilit:
