Porosity of surgical mesh fabrics: New technology

Abstract
A new method using an image processing system developed in our laboratories is used to measure the pore size in Mersilene, Marlex, and Teflon surgical meshes. All three meshes appear to have sufficiently large pores and should facilitate tissue growth/attachment.
