Abstract
We found 127.2 [plus or minus] 38.5 units glucoses-phosphate dehydrogenase per 109 platelets in normal individuals and 24.0 [plus or minus] 17.4 units glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase per 109 platelets in individuals exhibiting the defect. The 6-phosphogluconic dehydrogenase activity was the same in normal and affected subjects. These results show that this enzymatic defect is demonstrable in platelets of affected subjects. Keywords
