Abstract
The evolution of the capabilities of firms in emerging technological fields depends upon the progress of technological development. The strategies firms in these fields employ change as the field evolves. Over time, the strategic resources they commit evolve from broad and exploratory investments oriented towards research to focused, more substantial investments directed towards establishing their competitive positions. Firms' dependence on external alliances also shifts over time, decreasing as the field evolves. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
