Abstract
A definite insufficiency in the production of HCl in the stomach occurs during severe radiation sickness. When HCl is given, the symptoms of radiation sickness disappear. Injns. of histamine were also effective in alleviating the symptoms of radiation sickness. These observations definitely contradict the theory that histamine or similar substances are the etiologic factors in the causation of radiation sickness. Keywords
