Abstract
The authors show that the dynamical contraction of n 'internal' spacelike dimensions leads, in general, to the formation of a cosmic graviton background, similar to that produced by inflation. By using a simple phenomenological model they discuss how to obtain information and constraints on the total number of extra dimensions on their compactification scale and on the kinematics of the dimensional reduction process. Keywords
