Abstract
A new method was devised for the estimation of denatured plasma protein after long-term artificial perfusion. The method was based on the behavior of denatured protein, namely, decreased solubility and increased susceptibility to enzymatic hydrolysis. By this method, the extents of denaturation of plasma protein were compared after 20 hours perfusion using bubble, disc or membrane type oxygenators. Membrane type oxygenater was superior to non-membrane oxygenators in inducing less denaturation of plasma protein. Keywords
