Abstract
Shyness and Love scales were administered to investigate the relation between shyness and love for 153 men and 217 women on a college campus. Three groups, Love, Dating, and Friendship, were identified on the Love scale, which was composed of 5 subscales, Respect, Congeniality, Altruism, Physical Attraction, and Attachment. For the Love and Friendship groups shyness appears to be a barrier to congeniality and physical attraction, which are aspects of love, as well as to love itself. Shyness did not appear to inhibit the Dating group. This publication has 7 references indexed in Scilit:
