Abstract
CHRONIC abdominal pain is a difficult diagnostic dilemma, particularly in children. In attacking this problem, the pediatrician often concentrates on the gastrointestinal or genitourinary tract as a source of the pain.1 Too little attention is paid to the gallbladder as the cause of pain in this age group.2,3 Standard general pediatric textbooks do not include gallbladder disease as a cause of either acute or chronic abdominal pain in children.4,5 The following report describes a rare condition, multiseptate gallbladder, as a cause of chronic abdominal pain. Prior to this time there have been only two cases reported in the literature, both were in adults.
