Abstract

In cases of endemic malaria the trophozoites are large and are mainly Plasmodium malariae or P. vivax among children, and P. falciparum among adults. In cases of acute malaria the trophozoites are minute and both children and adults are mainly infected by P. malariae or P. vivax. seldom by P. falciparum.
