Abstract
The sharp emission lines in the range 200 to 1700 Å originate from regions of the sun where quarks may be found mainly as bound to the nuclei of carbon, nitrogen, and oxygen. Electronic transitions of such species are predicted and a search is carried out in the far uv solar spectrum. Keywords
