Abstract
The newer progestin-estrogen combinations afford considerable latitude in the selection of a contraceptive agent. Following a description of the properties and chemical structures of newer progestins, including those used in the sequential oral contraceptive products, the important conclusions drawn from a large-scale survey of the long-term effects of an oral contraceptive are enumerated. The survey represents more than 29,000 woman-years of use of the agent. Keywords
