Abstract
A case of acute balanitis in an adult is described. Group B beta-hemolytic streptococci type 3 were recovered from an aspirate of the infected area and from the cervical canal of the patient's sexual consort. The patient and his consort were treated with oral ampicillin for ten days. After therapy the patient's infection cleared, and group B beta-hemolytic streptococci were not recovered from his consort. This case illustrates another aspect of disease due to group B beta-hemolytic streptococci in adults. Keywords
