Abstract
Using the density-matrix concept, the theory of spin-echoes, explaining their mode of formation, the damping effects of diffusion, and the modulation effects of J-coupling have been worked out by a direct and concise method. The results for spin-echo amplitude without J-coupling have been proved to agree for any general spin, with the classical results. The modulation effects of J-coupling and chemical shift agree with Hahn's results. Keywords
