Abstract
Values of these blood constituents were unchanged after 15 min. under ether anesthesia. Ascorbic acid content of the blood was negligible in scorbutic animals and increased with dietary intake, being 0.54 mg. per 100 cc. after a daily intake of 8 mg. ascorbic acid. Phosphatase activity of the serum increased slightly in mild scurvy and decreased markedly in severe scurvy; serum Ca remained unchanged. Differences observed in ascorbic acid and phosphatase values were not attributable to sex or to the amt. of basal diet. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
