Abstract
An improved technique for the study of the longevity of the adults of Rhagoletis pomonella is described. A feeding solution of 3% yeast plus 5% honey gave the greatest longevity of any of the solutions tested. The preoviposition period of the fly was also studied. A cross between [male][male] of the blueberry strain and [female][female] of the apple strain resulted in egg laying. The eggs hatched and the maggots matured to form puparia apparently normal in size for the apple maggot. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
