Abstract
The compression behavior of different varieties of jute fibers were studied. The bulk specific volume, defined as the ratio of the compressed volume to the weight of the sample, was measured under different loads and different conditions. A relation of the form V = aLb was obtained, where V is the bulk sp. vol., L is the load, and a and b are constants. Significant correlation was observed between bulk sp. vol. and fiber tex and a relation between the two was obtained. Keywords
