Resolution of the Discrepancy in the Determination of the Cabibbo AngleθVfromKl3and NuclearβDecays

Abstract
The magnitude of the polar-vector Cabibbo angle θV obtained from Ke3 decay has been reevaluated using the Kemmer description of pseudoscalar mesons. We find θV(K)=0.192+±0.016. This compares favorably with the value θVβ=0.188±0.007 obtained for 0+0+β decays, and thus removes the discrepancy between θV(β) and the value obtained from the conventional Klein-Gordon Ke3 description, θV(KG)=0.235±0.019. Combining the Kemmer and the β-decay results leads to a "best" value of θV=0.188+±0.006. A new determination of the axial-vector Cabibbo angles θA(K) and θA(KG) is also obtained.
