Abstract

The specific conductivities of cryolite and of melts of the systems , , and have been measured at high concentrations of cryolite. It has been proved that the specific conductivity decreases with increasing concentration of in the melt composition. Further it has been found that the addition of increases the specific conductivity of cryolite and of the system as well. With regard to the technology of aluminum production it is most important that the influence of is most pronounced at low concentrations of and at higher concentrations of alumina.
