Multiple-channel pulsed-field magnet driver.

Abstract
A four-channel, all-transistor magnet dirver is described which produces a unidirectional pulse of current at a frequency determined by a sine-wave generator. The magnet-driving waveforms have an essentially uniform current during the on period resulting in excellent phasing characteristics. All 4 channels were within 7% in their magnet-driving characteristics; the simultaneous use of all channels resulted in a maximum decrease in current of 4.4% in one channel. Unidi-rectional switching has the advantage of less heating and circuit simplicity but results in some loss of sensitivity.
