Abstract
A chemically clean slide was covered with a thin film of serum by using a glass spreader. A drop of marrow suspension (bone-marrow in autogenous serum, about 1 to 20 dilution) was placed upon this film and spread by blowing gently on it until a central area of about 2 cm in diameter became dry. The peripheral rim of the smear was then wiped off and the slide stained. A statistical analysis showed that the variation in size of cells did not influence their distribution within the area and that improved cell morphology with fewer damaged cells favored quantitative studies. Keywords
