Abstract
The electrodisintegration cross sections for 400-MeV electrons on and were calculated using the Born approximation for the motion of the electrons and allowing both nucleon-deuteron and three-nucleon disintegrations. The contributions due to these two processes were found to be comparable for both nuclei, assuming the processes to be uncoupled. The cross sections for both processes were found to be essentially the sum of the cross sections for elastic scattering off the free fragments multiplied by a function characterizing the momentum distribution of the fragment in the ground state of the target nucleons. The effects of the final-state interactions between the fragments were considered and found to reduce the cross sections appreciably relative to the result obtained by neglecting these interactions.
