Abstract
Experiments on the generation of third harmonics due to dislocations were carried out on aluminum single crystals. The amplitude of the third harmonics and the attenuation of the fundamental wave were measured as a function of impurity content, static bias stress, plastic deformation, and amplitude of the fundamental wave. The results of these experiments are compared with the predicted behavior. Good qualitative agreement is found between theory and experiment. Keywords
