Abstract
In each of three individuals, carotid sinus pressure produced a shift of the control of the heart beat from the dominant pacemaker to an ectopic, slower or faster, site of impulse formation. In each instance, it was possible to measure the fundamental rates of the two practically simultaneous pacemakers over fairly wide ranges of variation in rate. A direct, linear relationship was found to exist. Keywords
