Abstract
The general procedures and equipment used for the fabrication of ultrathin metallic foils are outlined. Such foils are an essential part of a variety of nuclear parameter measurements. Specific techniques are given for the rolling of Cr, W, Gd and modified 310 SS foils. By use of a modified pack, rolling to ultrathin gauges can be accomplished on conventional mills. A table is included, listing many additional foils that have been produced by the above means. Foil production of this type is a custom operation and suggestions for operational success are given. Keywords
