Abstract
Franck-Condon factors for the following ionization transitions were computed assuming a Morse potential: H2 X1Σg+(v=0)→H2+X2Σg+(v=0→15) HD X1Σg+(v=0)→HD+X2Σg+(v=0→15) D2 X1Σg+(v=0)→D2+X2Σg+(v=0→15). The results are used to interpret several recent ionization experiments which used essentially a monoenergetic ionizing medium. The relative importance of autoionization and direct ionization exciation processes are discussed. Keywords
