Abstract
The authors report, for the first time, a top-emitting double-fused long wavelength vertical cavity laser. The top emitting structure allows for higher output powers and simple packaging. Such a laser has been packaged and run under continuous-wave operation for over 4000 h with no measurable degradation. Keywords
