A NOTE ON PSEUDOMONAS STUTZERI

Abstract
A study of the literature dealing with Burri and Stutzer''s Bacillus denitrificans II, amplified with personal observations, has revealed this to be an easily recognized and readily accessible denitrifying bacterium. The nomenclatorial confusion has been reviewed, and the conclusion drawn that henceforth the organism should be known as P. stutzeri (Lehmann et Neumann) Kluyver, non Migula. An up-to-date description of the species is given.
