The Treatment of Paroxysmal Ventricular Tachycardia with Isoproterenol

Abstract
A patient with paroxysmal ventric-ular tachycardia and Stokes-Adams attacks in the absence of atrioven-tricular block is presented, and the successful prevention of these attacks with isoproterenol is described. The history of the use of pressor amines to control ventricular arrhythmias is reviewed. The rationale for their effectiveness is discussed.
