Abstract
This note raises a number of questions about the theoretical and empirical adequacy of the notion that Americans deny death. An attempt is made to point out the difficulty of concluding that Americans deny death without a precise understanding of what denial means and how it can be measured. Some suggestions regarding the development of denial are made. And an example is offered by way of demonstrating the need for adequate conceptualization. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
