Abstract
For the first time in history, influenza vaccine could be available at the beginning of an influenza pandemic. This is the result of the removal of major technical barriers; however, political and economic hurdles remain. In this Policy Forum, the authors describe solutions outlined by the World Health Organization Influenza Programme for expediting progress and increasing market forces to develop influenza pandemic vaccines. Keywords
