Abstract
The authors describe their use of a Doppler flow detector in the treatment of carotid-cavernous fistulas to monitor the ocular bruit, the clinical sign usually used to detect obliteration of the fistula. In seven procedures the Doppler ultrasonic flow detector has yielded satisfactory proof that the flow sounds were no longer audible, and that the surgery was successful. Keywords
