Abstract
Increasing awareness of the dangers of plumbism to children has given rise to many organized programs to detect and treat individuals suffering from lead toxicity. But such programs are generally after-the-fact when in many cases irreversible neurologic damage has already been done. The goals must be therapeutic intervention before the onset of clinically recognizable signs and symptoms, and prevention. Keywords
