Abstract
Debrisan is an ultra-long crosslinked dextran produced as tiny microspherules or beads placed in wounds to produce more rapid healing. Debrisan is beneficial in removing debris and inflammatory mediators from the surface of cutaneous ulcers. Debrisan does not affect the bacterial flora in the wound but by removing the purulent material in the wound decreases the number of colonies. Debrisan enhances fibroblastic proliferation and wound closing. Abscessed wounds should be mechanically sterilized before Debrisan-promoted cleansing and closure. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
