Abstract
Duodenal ulcer is rare in pregnancy. Most instances reported have occurred in otherwise complicated or near-term pregnancies and may result from the normal rise in glucocorticoids in the last trimester of pregnancy and the additional ulcer-provoking action of toxemia or other physiologic stress. Two case reports are presented of patients with duodenal ulcer in early, otherwise normal pregnancy. The paucity of such case reports is partially due to the face that almost 40% of normal gravid patients have ulcerlike symptoms in early pregnancy. Keywords
