Abstract
The solution of the coupled-cluster one- and two-particle equations by finite basis sets is demonstrated. The g-Hartree coupled-cluster equations are derived, and, as an example, the ground-state energy of Be is calculated, iterating the one-particle equation to infinite order coupled to the lowest-order two-particle function. This calculation is performed for the g-Hartree and the Hartree-Fock mean field, and the results are discussed. Keywords
