Abstract
It is shown, that the results obtained by Heisenberg [11] and Bewilogua [12] for the total intensity of incoherent scattering of x‐rays (at a fixed scattering angle) on the basis of the Thomas‐Fermi‐model contain information also with respect to the spectral distribution of the scattered radiation.A remarkable consequence is an asymmetry of the Compton‐line‐profile, which is increasing with the influence of electronic binding. This gives rise to some modifications of current views concerning the application of the Breit‐Dirac correction factor to the Waller‐Hartree‐formula (§ 3), and the connexion between the Compton‐line‐profile and the electron‐momentum‐density‐distribution (§ 4).Keywords
