Abstract
The results of a pilot study suggest that doctors practising homœpathic medicine issue fewer prescriptions and at a lower cost than their colleagues. Despite the severe limitations of the study the implications of these figures justify fuller and more rigorous enquiry. The limitations of this study and requirements for future cost effectiveness of studies are discussed. Keywords
