Abstract
[[abstract]]A prebunched beam has been used to increase further the efficiency of an axis-encircling high harmonic gyrotron. The experiment was performed at the third harmonic with a TE312 mode at 27.7 GHz. The conversion power was 6.7 kW, significantly greater than that of the non-prebunched experiment. Mode competition was substantially reduced. The dependence of the output power on the square of current has been verified. The start of oscillation current is effectively zero.[[fileno]]2010126010059[[department]]物理Keywords
