Abstract
In 177 cases of rheumatoid disease, total protein levels show no striking change, other than some lowering of the level; globulin level, however, is higher than normal; the ratio of albumin to globulin is lower than normal but this relationship is true also for severely ill non-rheumatoid subjects. The removal of all agents tending to stimulate globulin production e.g., infectious foci is recommended. A more accurate figure ("series expression") is a % of each fraction with respect to normal of total protein, albumin, and globulin. Keywords
