Abstract
We investigate the nonlinear dynamics of temporal pattern formation in a driven and damped nonlinear-optical system. The patterns result from the growth of modulations in the optical field which circulates inside a nonlinear dispersive fiber ring with bandwidth-limited gain and an external injected signal. Keywords
