Abstract
Presentation of CaseA 60-year-old woman was admitted to the hospital because of respiratory failure.She was well until 10 days earlier, when symptoms of a respiratory-tract infection developed several days after exposure to epiglottitis and tracheitis in her husband; her symptoms included coryza and myalgia. A week before admission a dry cough appeared, and the temperature rose to 38.9°C. A physician prescribed erythromycin; the cough worsened, and dyspnea developed.
