Abstract
An unusual response pattern was exhibited by a rat on a fixed-ratio schedule. Observation indicated that it may have resulted from attacks on the lever which, due to the slight force required to activate the microswitch, were recorded as operant responses. This may have important implications for interpreting results of some operant experiments. Keywords
