Frühergebnisse nach Implantation künstlicher Linsen

Abstract
Within the past 12 mo., 64 intraocular lenses were implanted. Only eyes close to emmetropia and not exhibiting pathological conditions were considered. The patients averaged 76 yr old. Preoperative medication and surgical procedure are described. Serious postoperative complications were not observed. Striate keratopathy (22%) and secondary glaucoma (11%) were restricted to the initial 4-5 postoperative days. In 73% of the cases, the postoperative visual acuity was 6/8-6/6. Maculopathy and opacification of the posterior lens capsule left behind were responsible for reduced visual acuity in the remaining cases.
