Abstract
Following depletion of plasma haptoglobin by formation of a complex with hemoglobin, the return to normal levels was observed and analyzed kinetically. The daily synthetic rate approximated 30-50% of the intravascular pool. More than half of this daily synthesis is consumed in association with the normal metabolism of plasma hemoglobin while some other catabolic mechanism(s) is responsible for the remainder. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
