Abstract
A taxonomic study is reported on the deep-sea asellote isopod family Haploniscidae from the northeast Atlantic. New species (7) are described from the Rockall Trough, Iceland Basin and Porcupinea Sea-Bight, Haploniscus aduncus sp. nov., H. ampliatus, sp. nov. H. angustus, sp. nov. H. borealis, sp. nov., H. hamatus sp. nov., Antennuloniscus diversus, sp. nov. A. simplex, sp. nov. and supplementary descriptions are given of the males of 3 further species, Haploniscus foresti Chardy, H. ingolfi Wolff, and Chauliodoniscus armadilloides (Hansen). An identification key encompasses all known species from the study area. The structure of the female cuticular organ and seminal vesicle is described and figured for the 1st time in the Haploniscidae, from KOH digested preparations. Keywords
