Abstract
Glaciofluvial material from eskers and outwash-deltas in different areas has been lithologically analysed (grain counting with Cambro-Silurian fragments as indicators and determination of calcium). It is mostly of extremely local origin. Both as to frequency and distribution it shows great accordance with the till in the nearest proximal vicinity. Also the glaciofluvial material shows such a lithological homogeneity that distribution lines (semilogarithmic scale) may be constructed (Figs. 2–5). Nearly all values of the constant a in the exponential function are greater than the corresponding ones of the till. The activity of the glacial rivers must, accordingly, have been divergent from that of the ice. Especially the crushing-down effect has played a decisive role. Keywords
